QOU holds a workshop about using the statistical figures

The scientific research deanship, the Continuing Education and Community Service Center in QOU and the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics hold a workshop about using the statistical figures for the university employees on Monday 28 November 2016 in the university headquarter in Ramallah.
The workshop was opened by Prof. Samir Al-Najdi vice president for academic affairs welcoming the students and confirming that this workshop is a result of the cooperation between the university and the Central Bureau of Statistics. He also wished that this workshop would produce a responsible staff in dealing with statistical figures and make use of the figures available in the central bureau of statistics to have fruitful outcomes of the workshop.
Dean of scientific research Prof. Husni Awad said that the workshop is important for the employees since it will introduce them to ways of acquiring statistical figures, documenting them and presenting them in a scientific way because data is the base for planning their work, studies and research. He clarified that this workshop will provide critical data with high quality that is a basic part of the organization’s work. It also plays a main role in evaluating and planning since it is a tool of evaluating the performance and monitoring it on partial and total levels, it’s the base for forming policies and making the right decisions on the organizational level.
Mr. Haitham Zidan, publishing and documentation department director in the Central Bureau of Statistics thanked QOU for organizing this workshop hoping to implement future workshop related to statistics in the field of publishing and documentation. He also said that these workshops aim at using the statistical figures that is qualified to be used by academic researchers.
The participants were introduced to the experience of the central bureau in the field of qualifying data, documenting and publishing them since the statistics produced are of high quality among the best practices to fulfil the needs of the users.
