Al-Quds Open University forms a Committee to supervise the Implementation of “Mobile Education Center” Project
The Continuing Education & Community Service Center & Yatta Branch held on Tuesday, Dec 30, 2014 a meeting for partner institutions in the “Mobile Education Center” Project for improving education quality in the marginalized areas of South Hebron, in the Joint Services Council Hall in Yatta. The Project that funded by Governments of Sweden, Austria and Norway through Community Resilience & Development Program for “C” Area & East Jerusalem (CRDP). Ministries of the Palestinian Government such as Planning & Administrative Development, Agriculture, Education & Higher Education, & Local Government cooperated together with the Program of Assistance to the Palestinian People (PAPP) that follows the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The Meeting main aim was to form a committee headed by Dr. Ali Salah, & the membership of the Dr. Jamal Bheis, Mr. Yousef Al-Salameen, Mr. Ibrahim Qar’eesh, Mr Saber Al-Herini, & Mrs. Emtiaz Al-Herini, Head of the Feminine Center, to supervise the implementation of the project, which aims to improve educational opportunities in the marginalized areas of South Hebron. It was attended by Yatta Branch Director Dr. Ali Salah, Deputy Mayor of Yatta Municipality Dr. Jamal Bheis, Deputy Director of Yatta Educational Directorate Mr. Ibrahim Qar’eesh, Chairman of the Joint Services Council in Yatta Mr Saber Al-Herini, & some schools’ principals in the targeted area.
Dr. Salah started the meeting, by assuring on the University interest in providing the best educational services for cities in need of such projects like Yatta, Sammou’, & the marginalized areas. The project is considered as one of many projects that will be achieved in South Hebron. He also presented a detailed explanation about the Project’s objectives, components, provided services, the training & technical implementation mechanisms.
At the end of the meeting, the attendance agreed on the importance of working together in making this project very successful, especially for the teachers, School students, the University students of Yatta Branch, other Universities students, & the whole local community specially the females in the marginalized areas.
